🏄‍♂️ I’ve been riding the AI wave for a while now — experimenting, building tools, and asking where all of this is heading for creativity and futures thinking.

So when the Association of Professional Futurists - APF asked me to contribute to the latest issue of Compass, I went big: a 9-page piece called “🏄 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗜 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆.”

It’s about the flood of AI-generated slop, the disappearing “mediocre middle,” the power of early adoption, and why taste, judgment, and intention matter more than ever. I also dive into how AI is reshaping futures thinking - from scenario building to speculative artifacts.

🙏 Huge thanks to Stephen Dupont, MSc, APR, Fellow PRSA for his thoughtful editing - he helped sharpen this piece in a big way.

🚀 If you’re curious about how AI is transforming creativity (for better and worse), the whole issue is worth a read. You can check it out here: https://www.apf.org/
